At least 2 dead, multiple people missing in Oklahoma after more than a dozen tornadoes hit 3 states

Two people have died and multiple others are missing after several deadly tornadoes hit the states of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas late Friday evening. The storms left several homes damaged and knocked out power for thousands as officials start search and rescue efforts.

  • THE GUARDIAN – Several twisters caused property damage and physical injury across the various states on Friday. Tornado warnings had still been in effect as of late Friday in parts of Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.
  • CNN – Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt issued an emergency declaration on Saturday for Bryan, Choctaw, LeFlore and McCurtain Counties after damaging tornadoes blew through the state.
  • THE WEATHER CHANNEL – Dozens of homes are estimated to be damaged in northeast Texas, trees and power lines were down across the region and hundreds of flights canceled at Dallas area airports.
