NASA is preparing to launch the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope as early as September aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center.
Before launch, the spacecraft will undergo final inspections, testing, and fueling inside the Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility, a highly controlled clean room designed to prevent contamination.
The facility has been upgraded with improved air filtration, HVAC systems, and air-shower entry systems to meet strict cleanliness standards needed for the sensitive telescope.
Engineers are carefully controlling temperature, humidity, and air quality to protect both the spacecraft and workers during processing, NASA has reported.
Roman will then complete final prelaunch steps, including propellant loading and system checks, before being encapsulated for launch.
