Protestors torch cars and homes as Belfast burns over migrant’s gruesome knife attack

Riots broke out across Northern Ireland after a Sudanese asylum seeker was charged with attempted murder following a brutal knife attack in Belfast that left a man seriously injured.

The incident sparked anti-immigration demonstrations, with some protesters engaging in violence, including arson, vandalism, and attacks on homes, vehicles, and businesses.

Police and emergency services responded to widespread disorder as fires and property damage were reported in several areas.

Northern Ireland First Minister Michelle O’Neill condemned the violence, calling it “outright thuggery” and warning against targeting innocent residents, the New York Post has reported.

Authorities said the motive for the stabbing remains unclear and urged the public to remain calm while the investigation continues.
