Iran’s chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Tehran does not trust the United States and will not accept any agreement unless Iran’s rights are fully guaranteed.
His comments came as reports suggested President Donald Trump had sent Iran a tougher revised proposal amid ongoing nuclear negotiations.
The talks remain stalled over major disagreements, including Iran’s nuclear program and U.S. demands to prevent weapon development and reopen key shipping routes like the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran insists its nuclear program is civilian, while the U.S. and allies suspect weapons ambitions, and both sides continue exchanging amendments to a draft deal, the AFP has reported.
Iranian officials say no final conclusion has been reached, warning that key issues, including frozen assets and sanctions relief, remain unresolved.
